A Beautiful Life

I love daisies! They have always been my favorite flower. I love their simplicity and their beauty.

The daisy flower means innocence, purity, loyalty, love, and cheerfulness. They come in many colors. There are many types of daisies. They love the sun and grow in any type of soil. They all start with a seed. You plant the seed, give it water and sunlight and it grows to a pretty flower. When the flower starts to wilt you pull it off and it grows back.

This description reminds me of a Christian. We love the SON, we should be pure, loyal, full of love and joy. We come in many colors and sizes and should be growing in our “soil” the Bible.

That doesn’t mean that we won’t have problems or trials. We will! But, we have the Son Jesus, who helps, if we allow him too.  Just like a daisy needs the sun and water to grow, we also need the Son. Sometimes we wilt, we go through the storms, but when the storm is over, and the sun comes back out, it seems even brighter than before and we may even see a rainbow. Adults still get excited about rainbows. 😊

““I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”” John‬ ‭16:33‬ ‭NIV‬‬

I remember pulling off daisy petals one at a time saying, “he loves me, he loves me not.” I have found that HE loves me no matter what. He loves you too.

“neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans‬ ‭8:39‬ ‭NIV‬‬

A simple life is a beautiful life. I love simplicity. I don’t have to have the “best” of material things because I have the best of all things, Jesus.

We live in such a busy world that sometimes we forget to enjoy life. Take time to enjoy the simple things…a sunrise, sunset, the stars in the sky, the sound of the ocean, (if you’re lucky enough to be by it 😉) wildflowers, a snuggle or hug from a loved one.

We love to sit on the back porch and watch the squirrels or listen to the birds sing or the wind chimes. So peaceful! One of my favorite things is the wildflowers or “weeds” that the kids pick out of the yard and give me. They don’t see weeds, they see pretty little flowers and are so excited to give them to me. Oh the children, they know how to enjoy little things.

“Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”” Matthew‬ ‭19:14‬ ‭NIV‬

I took this picture last summer. I love the wildflowers and weeds with the beach and sky in the photo.  Only God can make something so beautiful.

Enjoying the simple life,

💜 Davilyn

  1. This is a beautiful article and Daisy’s are among my favourite flowers too. I used to make daisy chains as a child and wear them as necklaces and bracelets. The joy of youth and of simple things bringing pleasure.

  5. I loved this! Just what I needed today. As I listen to the birds chirping in my backyard, and look at the flowers being blown around by the wind, I was somehow feeling anxious. After reading this however, I am filled with awe by the level of detail that God went into when He created the scenery that He has placed me in!

  6. Daisies are one of my very favorites too because they are simple and I love how you tied simplicity into this post. I know for myself, I take a lot of things for granted and this was a great reminder for me to stop and smell the roses (or daisies!). Great photo of the flowers at the beach, by the way!

  7. What a beautiful comparison..I’ve never thought of my faith in such a lovely manner…it’s so true, we need his light, we need his protection, and we need his nourishment. He will always be there for us even when we get swept away or distracted, and sometimes it’s hard to accept that someone can love you unconditionally but Jesus does, and for that we must be thankful. Bless you hun 💖
